Official visit: Argentine Trade Secretary Miguel Braun and Secretary for Productive Transformacion Lucio Castro visited London..
A delegation led by Argentine Trade Secretary, Miguel Braun, and the Secretary for Productive Transformation, Lucio Castro, visited London between 13 and 15 March in a bid to relaunch bilateral trade and promote British investments in Argentina.
The delegation was accompanied by the Argentine Ambassador to the United Kingdom, R. Carlos Sersale di Cerisano, as well as officials from the Argentine Foreign Ministry and Argentine Embassy in London.
The visit included interviews with the Lord Mayor of London, Jeffrey Evans, the Treasury’s Commercial Secretary, Jim O´Neill, and Foreign Office officials. In addition to this, the Argentine Embassy and the British-Argentine Chambers of Commerce in Buenos Aires and London jointly organised a seminar at which both officials spoke to an audience comprising largely businesspeople, journalists and investors.
Following this, Secretary Braun participated alongside Shunko Rojas, the President of Argentina’s National Commission for Foreign Trade, in the round table discussion: “Another New Dawn for Argentina?” organised by the London-based Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation. Lastly, Secretary Braun held one-to-one meetings with investment fund representatives and British journalists.”
