Daniel Joglar
(Mar del Plata, 1956)
Studied at Martín A. Malharro, School of Visual Arts, in Mar del Plata (1990-1994). In 1997 he participated in the Scholarship Programme for Young Artists, coordinated by Guillermo Kuitca. He has held solo exhibitions at the Alliance Française (1998), Fundación Proa (1999), Belleza y Felicidad (2000), Galeria Dabbah Torrejón where he presented “Geografía” (2001) and “Sonidos Distantes” (2005), and “The Invisible Jump” at the Blanton Museum of Art, The University of Texas, Austin (2006). Since 1996 he has participated in many group exhibitions and in 1998 he received First Prize at the Bahía Blanca National Biennial. In 2002 he was granted a scholarship by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes and received the support scholarship for Artistic Creation by Fundación Antorchas. In 2003 he presented “Relevamientos” at the Instituto Cervantes, John Hancock Center, Chicago. He received the Initiation Artist Award from the Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte, for his solo exhibition “Hormigas, arañas y abejas", presented at Centro Cultural Borges in 2004. He participated in the OMI International Arts Center Residency Program for Visual Arts in New York (2007). He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
